About the Opportunity

Harbour City Ferries has an exciting opportunity for an SHEQ Systems Officer to join their team in Sydney on a full-time basis.  

Reporting to the General Manager - SHEQ, your primary responsibility will be to maintain and control the SHEQ Management System, including all documentation.

Your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Maintaining requirements for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certification;
  • Coordinating the maintenance, control and distribution of SHEQ Management System documentation;
  • Coordinating the collection and analysis of data to support the review of the SHEQ system effectiveness and continual system improvement; and
  • Leading internal audit schedule as per ISO requirements.

The successful candidate will hold qualifications as a Certified Quality Management Systems Auditor or Lead Auditor. Experience in the development and implementation of quality management systems will be essential, as will an understanding of Quality Management System document design. 

Harbour City Ferries are looking for someone who has experience with Occupational Health and Safety management systems/software and risk assessments. Additionally, training or experience with ICAM and strong Microsoft Office skills are desirable.

Importantly, you'll be able to translate the requirements of legislation, regulations, codes and standards into easy-to-follow procedures and work instructions.

And finally, highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including strong consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills, are a must. You will demonstrate a natural ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships of staff at all levels.
